2011 now and what a trip we had! Still thinking about it every day. Now it is 2010...and we are off, to Europe. Hong Kong, le Tour de France, Normandie, Paris for Bastille Day, Eurostar to London, motorhome for 33 nights, more London, then home!

Sheriff Hutton, near York.
Spent the day in York, the Park and Ride systems are very efficient..the only way to get into these historically cramped cities in the UK. You also get a relaxed introduction to the towns and I don't have to drive!!
Weather was quite good but a bit more sun would have been even better. There are a number of attractions in York but the real joy, I reckon, is just wandering around the very narrow but interesting streets of the old town. They are pretty much restricted to vehicles so you are free to roam, but you do it with many like-minded people. But that is not a problem and adds to the charm of the place. The Shambles is probably the highlight although the scale of York Minster hits you when you round a corner nearby. Clifford's tower is very evocative. I hope to get photos up soon of all the highlights, but it won't be tonight, too late now!
We are set up to visit Lincoln next with 2 meetings arranged. First, tomorrow afternoon with Mike Credland on behalf of the Friends of the Lincoln Tank group, to retrace the development of the very first tanks in WWI. Then, on Thursday morning, we meet with Les Davey..Les is a well known correspondent for the Bombala Times and we are looking forward to catching up with him.
Getting close to the end now...mixed feelings of course. Libby says she could go on forever like this, just travelling to new and exotic places. The big attraction of a trip like this is that you are pretty much always entering brand new places...everything is new.
Must away, getting late. Will pop up a few more pictures.
Regards,
Warwick.

Here in York today, finally have a good connection. Just a short message and a couple of photos this morning as we are off to town. Will send more tonight.
Had a lovely time since we last posted. Mostly raining in the highlands sadly but did not dim the impressive sights. Got to Loch Ness and Culloden battlefield.
Then down for 2 lovely days in a very sunny Edinburgh. Caught deep in the throngs of the Fringe Festival down the length of the Royal Mile then the castle..wow!
Yesterday we retraced our steps a little to walk along Hadrian's Wall at Housesteads, very evocative and interesting.
All healthy and happy. York today, Lincoln tomorrow arvo and also on Thursday to meet with Les Davey..looking forward to that.
Then last couple of days into London.
Must rush,
regards,
Warwick, Libby, Brittany and Janaya
